Since a little child has grown up in the lap of music. Music taste includes; Jazz, R N B,
Rock, Retro, Pop, Semi Classical Opera, Funk, Lounge, Experimental Fusion and Hip-hop.
She has pursued vocal training for over 6 years with the renowned teacher Celia Lobo,
also studied Hindustani Classical for over a year and has been performing over the last 8 years very selectively,
at Concerts with her Dad, Mr Joe Alvares and Musical Luminaries like Louis Banks, Karl Peters, Loy Mendonca, etc.
Some performances worthy of mention are the prestigious Johnnie Walker Club Event,
all over India, and the Royalty of Nepal & the Presidential Entourage of Pres Clinton
at The Maurya Sheraton in Delhi and as a special feature at The Regular Thursday Jazz Sessions at Indigo,
Velvet Lounge, Zenzi, Seijos, Jazz By the Bay Mumbai & Pune,
done various corporate events in Goa.
Also performs at the Renaissance, Powai, Jazz Nites.
Also was the youngest performer at the international Jazz Yatra held in Mumbai.
She has been featured on kiddie albums with Louis Banks
and recently on an all girl album with B4U Music and Sony,
and has recorded a song for Bharat Dabholkar’s Film “God Only Knows”,
also with Shankar-Loy –Ehsan for a Hindi film, Dil jo Bhi Kahey.
Has done quite a few Ad Jingles for various Corporate Companies like Motorola,
Sun fill, Rin- Hindi and English.
She is also on the faculty of GARODIA INTERNATIONAL MUSIC SCHOOL ,
GHATKOPAR and BANDRA as the vocals instructor.
Also is the lead singer of the All Girl Band: The Real Thing,
which is produced and managed by her Dad.
They recently performed at the Re-opening of The Bistro, in Hauz Khas,
Delhi for Mr Suresh Kalmadi and at the Black and White Whiskey Comedy Nite at Otters Club, Bandra.
Recently performed in Chennai for The Chennai Cricket Club and at Le Meredien for a Fund Raiser Event.
Also performed at The Esplanade Arts Theatre in Singapore alongwith her Dad.
Featured in September issue of India Today (Oct Issue) under Eyecatchers.
Also travelled to Singapore with her father, to perform at a prestigious Awards nite at the Ritz Carlton
for the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce with Jazz Luminaries from the USA with the PM as chief guest.
Has also worked at the Novotel Hotel in Hyderabad at The Bar for 2 months with a Solo Pianist.
Shefali is currently working on her album, which should be out by November 2008,

Mahesh Tinaikar - Guitar, Floyd Fernandez - Guitar and Kenneth Rebello - Bass.
Her repertoire includes Blues Jazz Funk and her own compositions.
